An increasing number of people are making efforts on reducing their consumption of meat on a regular basis. The trend was once nothing more than a trend - now it has become a way of life. There's no better time than now to give the switch a go!

In the end, a vegan lifestyle does not mean that you have to do without anything. We prefer to think of it this way: you replace something you love with something new that you also love. Nowadays, it has become extremely easy to find meat-free alternatives to meat-based foods - and even get them delivered to your door. With the growing popularity of conscious and vegan eating, it has become much easier.

We're happy to bring you some easy peasy vegan meal replacement recipes to help you (or a friend) get started when you are looking for some inspiration.

1) Mayo 👉🏼 Vegan Mayo

Looking for a vegan spread that will knock your socks off? Look no further than vegan mayo! Generally, made from a blend of plant-based oils, vinegar, and a secret blend of spices, this creamy condiment will take your taste buds on a wild ride. With its origins in vegan kitchens around the world, vegan mayo is the perfect spread for those who want to indulge without sacrificing flavour. Trust us, once you try vegan mayo, you'll never need to go back to dairy mayo.

2) Cream 👉🏼 Coconut Cream/Milk

Coconut milk is a staple in many national cuisines . Being a milk made from plants, it is not only a great alternative for everyone who eats a plant based diet, but also for people who are lactose intolerant.

Not only is coconut milk great in Thai food, but it's also a great base for smoothies. Or, use it to replace dairy products in baking, and even make a whipped cream from!

3) Scrambled eggs 👉🏼 Scrambled tofu

There may have been a time you may not have been able to imagine breakfast without scrambled eggs, but there's good news: tofu is a PERFECT substitute for scrambled eggs!

Tofu is made is made from soybeans, and is a common meat substitute. What many people don't know is that you can also use tofu as a perfect substitute for eggs. All you have to do is crumble it into the pan and season it with your favourite spices, like turmeric, cumin and paprika.

4) Pulled pork 👉🏼 Pulled jackfruit

This one is a doozy — a meat alternative without all the processing, yep, a fruit can substitute for a pulled pork alternative! The unique texture of the tropical fruit is very similar to that of different types of meat, and its neutral taste means it absorbs spices very well - which means it is great for seasoning however you like. For example, if you love pork, you can replace it with a pulled jackfruit burger with barbecue sauce for a mouthwatering swap.

5) Honey 👉🏼 Maple Syrup

It's no secret that pancakes and maple syrup are made for each other. There's no reason to only use maple syrup as a sweet topping at breakfast. It can do a lot more: replace honey in savoury marinades, pies or even in salad dressings, for example.

And while it might have a slightly different flavour profile than honey, remember this is about replacing ingredients you love with other ingredients you'll love too.

6) Chicken 👉🏼 Tempeh

Made from fermented soybeans, tempeh is the ultimate substitute for chicken that will take your vegan diet to the next level. Maybe you already know other fermented products like kefir or kombucha; then you can now add tempeh to your list of treats that will also boost your digestion.

The versatile vegan ingredient can take on different flavours depending on how it is prepared - for example as deep-fried tempeh, grilled satay tempeh, or, our personal favourite, tempeh crumbles in tacos.
